Watched The Normal Heart

Gay campaigners searching for recognition of the early eighties AIDS epidemic and their pursuit of funding.
I thought is was magnificent.
A little film, not released on circuit.

Jimi gives it 5/5.

Watched Three Identical Strangers. Thought it was pretty bloody awful. What a waste of great potential. 2/5

And 22 July. despite the lukewarm reception from critics, I thought it was pretty good, albeit long-winded. 3.5/5

Watched Lego Scooby-Doo!: Haunted Hollywood. I doubt you need a review.

I forgot to write about this one earlier: The Death of Stalin (Mandarin title: 史達林死了沒?/ Shidalin si le mei?).

Deliciously wicked and funny. Not a documentary, but true enough in how people act under such systems. Recommended.

I watched Sully.

I like Eastwood's melodramas. It wasn't bad, but it most certainly wasn't Million Dollar Baby or Unforgiven.
2.5/5.

I just watched that one too. Considering he didn't really have a whole lot to work with - plane drops out of the sky and nobody dies - he did a great job of conveying what's it's actually like to be on a plane with no engines. And I did enjoy the technical waffle during the investigation scenes, but that's probably just me.

There is an upcoming Eastwood movie, The Mule, that just from the trailer seems to be just as good as those Oscar winners and equally heartbreaking.

I'm one of the few people who didn't much care for Million Dollar Baby. The family and the ending were such a cliché -- all the worse for the accent. :twocents:

But I would like to see Sully. I keep catching bits and pieces of it on TV. One of these days I'll get all of the parts that way....

The new Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, is pretty good. Very, very weird, but good. It's a bit like watching a 3-D comic without glasses.

I watched Gone Girl, which had a nagging familiarity about it. It was only near the end that I realized I've seen it before.

Old age is a bitch.

Anyway, it's utter rubbish. Entirely implausible, which is probably why I don't remember watching it the first time. A nasty, horrible film.

1/5. Only because watching Affleck fumble his way through a mediocre wannabe thriller is entertaining in a cringeworthy way.

I kinda like him as Batman, though.

Remake of Watership Down. I'm too terrified to watch. Even the trailer made me feel ill.

Got around to watching Noah. What a mangled pile of rubbish. 1/5 for some spectacular CGI.

I think I may re-watch Scent of a Woman today because, like, Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Amen to that, brother. I hated it.

Watched Aquaman. Not impressed.

Tried to watch Valerian. Lasted 20 minutes. Nope.

Same with Pacific Rim: Uprising. Eek.

I rewatched Coco. Always enjoyable.

Cannot say the same of Crazy Rich Asians. Need more shirtless guys for that.

I have this new MOD system which has The Meg and a bunch of new stuff. Nothing nice I'd enjoy watching. Mostly I rewatch Avengers movie for clues of what is to come.
