10 most well known Japanese by Brits

Postby Big Vern » Sat Feb 02, 2019 21:35

I'm in Japan at the moment and a TV show is running the 10 most famous Japanese according to limeys. I've called Hirohito as number one, but my wife denies this could be the case.

The countdown is at number 6 right now. Any thoughts as to who could be the rest, and who could be number one?

Chester Bennington is at number three. A bit tenuous IMO.

Yolo Ono is number 2. Fair enough.

My mistake. Yoko got number one slot. Hirohito didn't get a mention. Bit of a don't mention the war poll.

I had to look him up ... and I still don't get it.

I could probably name ten famous Japanese (mainly filmmakers, actors, and writers); but without Hirohito and Tojo it would be trickier to fill out the list.

Isn't Yoko Ono an American now? Japan is still uptight about dual citizens and would have revoked her citizenship, no? But such lists probably aren't all about the details.... :e50b:

Don't talk to me about naval tradition. It's nothing but rum, sodomy and the lash.

I was just a bit confused by that one. Perhaps because his band mate, Shinoda, is Japanese American? :idunno:
