Mado Turkish ice cream

Postby cranky laowai » Mon Apr 08, 2019 15:31

The Turkish international chain Mado has opened a cafe in the Nangang Software Park (building A -- the one with the main entrance with all of the flags, etc.).

The menu is long, though I'm not sure they have everything listed there -- or at least not all day. It seems to be mainly ice cream, desserts, coffee, expensive bagels (about NT$65), and those nice round sesame bread things (simit?).

They have about ten flavors of Turkish goat's milk ice cream. I tried the pistachio. It's not cheap: 1 scoop NT$90, 2 scoops NT$180(?!); but it was very good.

Every time I've been in there after 6 p.m. the baked goods have been buy one, get one free, which makes the bagels and cinnamon rolls a lot more appealing. (Nice cinnamon rolls!)

There doesn't seem to be a firm time for that policy to go into effect, though, and there's no sign indicating this. You just have to ask.

I still haven't had a chance to have a proper meal there.
